The efficiency management system is the three major programs of energy consumption efficiency rating system, high-efficiency energy equipment material certification system, and standby power reduction program that the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Energy Corporation are promoting to improve efficiency and expand the supply of high-efficiency products.

Efficiency Rating System (Energy Consumption Efficiency Rating System)
The Energy Consumption Efficiency Rating System is a mandatory reporting system for consumers to easily purchase efficient energy-saving products and for manufacturing (importing) manufacturers to produce and sell energy-saving products at source from the production (import) stage.
In this system, efficiency grades are divided into 1 to 5 grades depending on energy consumption efficiency or energy usage, and the minimum consumption efficiency standard (MEPS: Minimum Energy Performance Standard), the lower limit for energy consumption efficiency, is applied.

High-efficiency certification system (High-efficiency energy materials certification system)
The high-efficiency energy equipment material certification system is a voluntary system that certifies high-efficiency energy equipment materials that satisfy more than a certain standard as declared by the government by the results of the energy efficiency and quality tests.
This certification system is designed to activate the distribution of high-efficiency products and form an initial market, and the Korea Energy Corporation issues a certificate of high-efficiency energy materials upon voluntary application by manufacturers or importers.

Standby Power Reduction Program
The Standby Power Reduction Program is a mandatory reporting system for expanding the distribution of standby power-saving products that reduce standby power consumption when electronic products are not in use and promoting the development of related technologies.
